Obituary: TERESA LYNN ROBERTS SMART

Teresa Lynn Roberts Smart, 73, of Stoneville, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at her home.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Ridge-View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 am before the service at the funeral home and other times at the residence.

Teresa was born in Eden on October 26, 1950, a daughter of John Henry Roberts and Margaret Hutcherson Roberts, both deceased. She retired from Rockingham County Schools as a teacher assistant at Douglass Elementary School, but finished out her teaching career at Leaksville Spray Elementary School. After retiring from the school system, she taught Preschool at Leaksville United Methodist Church for 9 years. She also worked at Smart’s Citgo, helping her husband with their business. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, John Anthony Roberts.

Teresa is survived by her husband, W.C. “Dickie” Smart of the home; their sons, John Edwin Smart and wife Gina of Winston-Salem, Michael Jason Smart and wife Angie of Eden; her sisters, Sheila Hale and husband Randy, Karen Woods and Andrea Heilborn and husband Jim; her grandchildren, Brayden Mikheil Smart, Robert Henry Smart, Everett Jackson Smart; and several nieces and nephews.
