Obituary: ETHEL ELIZABETH HOPPER PULLIAM

Ethel Elizabeth Hopper Pulliam, 71, of Walnut Cove, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at LifeBrite Hospital in Danbury.

An 11:00 a.m. graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Christ Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Stokesdale with Rev. David Adkins officiating.

Ethel was born in Rockingham County on November 12, 1952, to the late Melvin and Nellie Lemons Hopper. She was a very caring and giving person, often making sure everyone had something to eat. Ethel loved her flowers, farming, eating good food, and going to church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, David and Jack Hopper.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Kenneth “Kenny” Pulliam of Myrtle Beach, Tracy Brown (Darrell) of Walnut Cove, and Michael Paul Pulliam of Eden; her sisters, Margaret Hennis (Sonny) of Madison and Debra Manring of Madison; her brothers, Danny Hopper (Joan) of Pine Hall, Harold Dean Hopper (Sheryl) of Walnut Cove, Douglas Hopper (Janice) of Madison, Wendall Hopper of Pine Hall, and Thomas Hopper of Madison; five grandchildren, Samantha Cole, Paris Pulliam, Justin Pulliam, James Brown, and Laura Brown; five great grandchildren; and two special friends and caregivers, Janice Dalton and Angie McHone.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with expenses.
