Obituary: GLENN FRANKLIN SHELTON

Glenn Franklin Shelton, 79, left this earthly life Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at home.

   He was born in Stokes County on December 18, 1942, to the late John Cecil Shelton and Stella Katherine Shelton. Glenn was a humble man devoted to his family and friends. He had strong work ethics. He had the reputation of being one of the best Diesel mechanics.

   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Owen Aldine Shelton, William Ronald Shelton, John Wayne Shelton, and a sister, Jane Elizabeth Lewis.

   Survivors include his beloved wife of 59 years, Juanita S. Shelton; sons, Richard Glen Shelton and William Franklin Shelton; two granddaughters, Meghan Shelton Uhl (Nickolas) and Madelyn Shelton Long (Sean); four great-grandchildren, Tristen Uhl, Asher Uhl, Ansleigh Uhl, and Ezra Long; brothers, David Eugene Shelton (Robin), Larry Jackson Shelton (Lindsay), Lewis Watson Shelton (Faye), and Jerry Cecil Shelton; sisters, Velmalene Shelton Hylton (Harless), Nancy Shelton Hepler (David), Kaye Shelton Flippin (Danny), and Donna Shelton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

   A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.

   Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel in Sandy Ridge is serving the family.
