Obituary: ANTHONY JEROME McBRIDE

Anthony Jerome McBride, 56, left this earthly life Thursday, May 2, 2024, at home.

Jerome was born on April 28, 1968, in Rockingham County. He attended Morning Star Baptist Church and was employed with Unifi, Inc. Jerome was a kind, humble man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and loved spending time with his son and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his a brother Marty McBride and maternal grandparents Dewey and Lottie Oakley.

Survivors include mother, Mattie Frances Oakley Wilkins; son and daughter-in-law, Austin Levi Willard (Tiffany); grandchildren, Emberlynn Sue Willard and Charles William Willard II; brothers and sisters-in-law, Artie McBride (Tina), Leslie McBride, Bradley McBride (Angela), and Kenneth McBride (Lisa), and fiancée Dawn Priddy Carter. Also left to cherish his memory are aunts, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 6, 2024, from 5:30 pm until 6:45 pm, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel, and other times at the home of his son Austin Willard. A Memorial Service will follow at 7 pm at the funeral home. At the request of family, please dress casual; work boots are welcomed.
