Obituary: SHELBY BARKER AXSOM

Shelby Barker Axsom, 83 of Eden, passed away peacefully, November 18, 2023, at the home of her daughter in Pfafftown, NC.
Shelby was born in Eden (Draper) to the late Jake and Mary Belle Wilson Barker. She was the youngest of 13 children. Shelby attended Immanuel Friends Church. She retired from Fieldcrest Cannon as a customer service representative with over 33 years of service. Several years after her retirement, Shelby became a caregiver to others in the community. Shelby’s loving heart and sense of humor will be remembered by all that knew and loved her.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Rhonda Huff of Pfafftown, NC and son, John Lloyd Axsom III(Whitney) of Gray Court, SC; grandsons, Isaiah Huff and Garrett Axsom.
In addition to her parents, Shelby is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, John Lloyd Axsom, Jr., grandson, Andrew Blake Clark, son-in-law Tim Huff and her nine brothers and three sisters.
A memorial service will be held 2 pm Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Fair Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Seaver officiating. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1 -2 pm. Burial will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens in Eden, NC.
