Mary Lou Williams passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, November 27th, 2023.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 29th, 2023 at Colonial Funeral Home with burial following in Woodland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. before the service and all other times at the home.
Mary was born on September 23, 1931 to the late Harvey and Theo Williams in Mayodan, North Carolina. She was best found at her home making sure everyone was taken care of. You would often find her in the kitchen cooking or making sure her house was tended to before the next guest came over. Mary was a faithful member of Mayodan First Baptist Church and attended Joyce Chapel.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, William Thomas Williams “Billy”.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Williams; son, David Scott Williams (Susan); daughter, Teresa Lewis (Houston); grandchildren, Mary Scarbraugh (Anthony), Nora Lawrence (Corey), Elizabeth Lewis, Leah Rains (Kyle), Jordan Williams (Anna); and 7 great-grandchildren with one on the way.
The family would like to thank Virginia Wall for all of her help taking care of Mary.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Ancora of Rockingham County, Joyce Chapel, or Mayodan First Baptist Church.
Colonial Funeral Home in Madison is serving the family.
