Obituary: CELIA “ANNE” WALL JAMES

Celia “Anne” Wall James, 83, of Clemmons, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024, at her home.

A 2:00 p.m. funeral service will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024, at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Horn officiating. Burial will follow at Mayodan Municipal Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Anne was born in Rockingham County on May 5, 1940, to the late Frances and Ida Lauten Wall. She graduated from East Carolina University and retired as a teacher. She had a strong faith and love for the Lord and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Winston Salem. Anne never met a stranger and saw the good in everyone. She loved her family dearly, especially her great grandchildren. She loved literature, card games, flowers and bird watching. Anne enjoyed attending sporting events and loved the UNC Tarheels. She also enjoying traveling the world with her husband, Ken.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Kenneth “Ken” James of the home; her children, David James of West Jefferson and Julie Kim (Sang) of Indian Land, SC; one sister, Fran Watkins (Bill) of Mayodan; five grandchildren, Dustin James (Lauren), Chasity James, Cydnee James (Ben Griggs), Jonah Kim, and Katelyn Kim; and six great grandchildren.
