Obituary: LOTTIE KNOWLES ALLEN

Lottie Knowles Allen, 92, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Annie Penn Hospital.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 2, 2023 in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. A private interment will follow. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Friends may sign a register and view Mrs. Allen from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Allen was born on November 27, 1930 in Rockingham County to the late James Franklin Knowles and Lillie Wilson Knowles. Lottie enjoyed cooking and spending time with her beloved family. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church where she enjoyed serving her Lord and Savior.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, brothers, Preston, Joe and Douglas Knowles; sisters, Ara Knowles, Carrie Knowles Moore, Lillie Anderson.

Survivors include her children, Larry Allen and Debbie Allen Meeks and one grandchild.
