City of Reidsville News Release • May 10, 2022
(Reidsville, NC) – Robin Yount will join Team Reidsville as Main Street Manager and Market Square Coordinator on Monday, May 16, 2022.
A lifelong resident of Rockingham County, she brings years of experience in tourism and marketing to this role.
Yount served for more than 20 years as Tourism Manager for Rockingham County. In this role, she successfully coordinated and recruited a number of projects that resulted in a positive economic impact, both in Rockingham County and in its communities. Among these was a joint project with the City of Reidsville to bring Cycle North Carolina’s Mountains-to-the-Coast ride to our local community. This event alone brought over 800 cyclists, plus their families and supporters to Lake Reidsville in 2021. These visitors visited our downtown merchants, dined in our local restaurants and even stayed in our local hotels.
Yount led Rockingham County’s tourism development and marketing initiative to promote the community as a tourist destination to state, regional and national audiences. She served as the staff liaison to the Tourism Development Authority (TDA) of Rockingham County. She also worked closely with the Rockingham County Economic Development staff to promote Rockingham County’s quality of life for business and industry recruitment. This blend of marketing and tourism will benefit her in her new role as Main Street Manager and Market Square Coordinator.
In addition to having already worked with several members of Team Reidsville on previous projects, Yount has also served on a number of Boards of Directors, including the Haw River and Mayo River State Park Advisory Board, the Rockingham County Parks & Recreation Advisory Board, and the Dan River Basin Association. Robin is also a former member of the Board of Directors for both the Reidsville and the Western Rockingham County Chambers of Commerce. Yount’s past experience will bring a unique set of skills, talent and experience to the role of Main Street Manager and Market Square Coordinator. She tells us she is looking forward to joining Team Reidsville and working closely with the Reidsville Downtown Corporation, as well as the downtown merchants, many of whom Yount already knows well from her work with tourism and her role on the Reidsville Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Her husband, Danny, works in the City’s Public Works Department.
