Traffic Stop Leads To Felony Drug Charges For Stokes County Man

(Eden, NC) – On 03/27/2025, Eden Police Department Patrol Officers initiated a traffic stop on a 2001 Dodge Neon. During the stop, officers discovered a large quantity of narcotics, the driver, Samuel Southern, 32, of Stokes County was arrested and charged with the following:

• M/S/D/P a Controlled Substance within 1,000 of a Park (Felony)
• Possession of Cocaine (Felony)
• Possession of Methamphetamine (Felony)
• PWISD Cocaine (Felony)
• PWISD Sch III (Felony)
• PWISD Sch IV Controlled Substance (Felony) x2
• Maintain a Dwelling for Selling a Controlled Substance (Felony)
• Possession of Sch III (Misd)
• Possession of Sch IV (Misd) x2

Southern was transported to the Rockingham County Magistrates Office where he was given a 300,000 Secure Bond. Samuel Southern is to appear in Wentworth District Court on April 1st, 2025 at 9:00am.
