Stoneville Police Department News Release • May 22, 2025

(Stoneville, NC) – On Wednesday, May 21st, 2025, at approximately 0912 PM, officers with the Stoneville Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a red and black scooter on S Henry Street for failing to stop at a stop sign.
Upon initial contact, officers approached Heather Celeste Wray, a 39-year-old white female. During the encounter, Wray appeared extremely nervous. Officers initiated an investigation and, with the assistance of the Madison Police Department K9 unit, conducted an open-air sniff. A probable cause search was carried out, resulting in the discovery of approximately 11.3 grams of methamphetamine.

Wray was taken into custody without incident.
Wray was charged with Possession of methamphetamine, Possession of drug paraphernalia, and failing to stop at a stop sign.
Wray is currently being held at the Rockingham County Jail under a $11,000 secured bond. Her next court appearance is scheduled for June 3rd, 2025.
