Saturday Evening Accident Involving Dirt Bikes Claims The Life Of One; Seriously Injures Another In Eden, NC

(Eden, NC) – At 5:18 p.m. on Saturday, March 8th, 2025, the State Highway Patrol responded to the report of a crash that occurred on Round House Road near Friendly Road, in Rockingham County.

Samuel Joseph Farthing, age 42, of Eden, N.C., was traveling east on Round House Road, operating a 2002 Yamaha dirt bike. Timothy Glenn Foster, 40, of Eden, N.C., was traveling west on Round House Road, operating a 2002 Honda dirt bike. Farthing crossed the centerline and struck Foster head-on.

Farthing died on-scene.

Foster suffered serious life-threatening injuries and was flown from the scene to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

This collision is still under investigation.

Round House Road near Friendly Road was closed for approximately three (3) hours during the investigation.

Troopers cleared the scene at 10:14 p.m.
