Rogers Named As Rockingham County Schools New Executive Director of Human Resources

(Rockingham County, NC) – Rockingham County Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Lowell Rogers as its new Executive Director of Human Resources. Rogers brings nearly two decades of dedicated service and experience in the North Carolina public school system, positioning him as a valuable addition to the Rockingham County Schools team.

Rogers’ career in education began in the classroom, where he taught 5th grade in Asheboro City Schools, Rockingham County Schools (Monroeton Elementary), and Caldwell County Schools where he was honored as the District Teacher of the Year. His journey continued as he transitioned into school administration, serving as an assistant principal and principal in Caldwell County. In these roles, he demonstrated a deep commitment to student success, educational excellence, and community involvement. Most recently, Rogers has served as Deputy Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources in Roanoke Rapids Graded Schools, Davidson County Schools and Alamance-Burlington School System, where he honed his skills in managing and supporting educational staff.

Rogers holds an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) Degree in Educational Leadership from Gardner-Webb University, a Master’s Degree in School Administration and Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Appalachian State University. He also earned an Associate Degree from Rockingham Community College. His diverse educational background and extensive experience will be instrumental in advancing the human resources functions within Rockingham County Schools.

Rogers and his wife, Ashlee, along with their two young children, are eagerly looking forward to returning to the Rockingham County community where his wife is a proud alumnus of Rockingham County High School. “Our family is excited to return to Rockingham County and contribute to the vibrant and supportive environment here,” said Rogers.

In his new role, Rogers will oversee all aspects of human resources, including recruitment, employee development, and compliance. His vision for the role includes fostering a positive work environment and supporting the district’s mission of providing high-quality education for all students.
