(Wentworth, NC) – The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office will host a Career Expo on Saturday, April 15th, for those interested in starting an exciting new career in law enforcement.
From 8 a.m. – 9:30 a.m., the Career Expo will focus on Detention Officers. We will be going over the duties and responsibilities of a Detention Officer for the Rockingham County Detention Facility, as well as salaries and benefits. Detention Captain Windell Brown will be on hand to answer any questions the attendees may have.

From 10 a.m. – NOON, the Career Expo will focus on Sworn law enforcement positions, specifically Sheriff’s Patrol, Courtroom Bailiff, and Detective positions. During this part of the Career Expo, we will be going over the duties and responsibilities, as well as salaries and benefits, of a Deputy Sheriff working in the Patrol, Bailiff, and Detective Divisions of the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office. Representatives from the Patrol, Bailiffs and Detective Divisions will be on hand to answer attendees’ questions about their respective fields.
