Rockingham County Board of Elections Announces Precinct Updates and Candidate Filing Period for 2025 Municipal Elections

The Rockingham County Board of Elections has announced several important updates ahead of the 2025 Municipal Elections, including precinct name changes, location updates, and the official dates for candidate filing.

🗳️ Precinct Changes Announced

To better reflect local communities and improve voter accessibility, the Board of Elections has approved the following updates to voting precincts:

📍 Precinct Name Changes

  • Eden-1 is now officially named Eden
  • Matrimony has been renamed to Stoneville

🏫 Precinct Location Changes

  • New Bethel Precinct has moved from Sharon Baptist Church to:
    Bethany Elementary School, 271 Bethany Road, Reidsville
  • Stoneville Precinct (formerly known as Matrimony Precinct) has moved from the Vera Holland Building to:
    Sharon Community Outreach Center, 126 Deaton Loop, Stoneville

🚫 Precinct Dissolution

  • The Leaksville-2 Precinct, previously located at Leaksville Christian Church, has been officially dissolved.
    Affected voters were mailed letters with details about their new polling locations. Voters previously in Leaksville-2 will now vote at either the:
    • Eden Precinct (Bridge Street Recreation Center) or
    • Stoneville Precinct

Any former Leaksville-2 voter with questions about their updated polling place is encouraged to contact the Rockingham County Board of Elections at 336-342-8107 for clarification and assistance.


📅 Candidate Filing Period for 2025 Municipal Elections

Individuals interested in running for local municipal office will be able to file their candidacy beginning Monday, July 7, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. The filing period closes Friday, July 18, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. (noon).
