Correction Notice : There was an error in yesterday’s press release regarding the 1962 Reidsville High School class donation for the RHS Media Center.

Pender Grogan was NOT the Class of 1962 President at Reidsville High School, though he did represent the class at Monday morning’s check presentation. Sorry for that mistake.

All the Best, Adam Powell

(Reidsville, NC) – Reidsville High School’s Class of 1962 made a special presentation to RHS Principal Erica
Blackwell on Monday, November 14 at the school’s Media Center.

In celebration of their 60th class reunion and anniversary, the RHS class of 1962 provided a monetary donation to Reidsville High School’s Media Center in the amount of $1,000.00.

The Class of 1962 was the first class to graduate from the new Reidsville Senior High School on South Park Drive in Reidsviille. This class celebrated their 60th anniversary at the Penn Center Greenhouse earlier this year. Classmates in attendance voted to make a donation to the school library.

“We had our 60th anniversary a couple months back, and we decided that would probably be our last formal reunion,” said RHS Class of 1962 Member Pender Grogan. “So we decided to wipe out our checking account, and donate it to the library here at the school. We were the first class to graduate from this school, so it holds special memories to us.”

“We’re hoping that each class, they will pick up our challenge and donate their leftover funds, or raise some funds,” Grogan added. “Each little bit will help fill these chairs up with books.”

“I want to thank the Class of 1962 for thinking of Reidsville High School,” said Reidsville High School Principal Erica Blackwell. “The Media Center will definitely benefit from that. That $1,000 can buy a lot of books, and lot of programs. So we truly appreciate it. Thank you.”
