
Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office News Release • April 3, 2025
(Wentworth, NC) – On March 25, 2025, the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office responded to 7691 NC 704, Madison, to investigate the death of 46-year-old Thomas Kyle Gibson Jr. Evidence suggested that Gibson’s death was the result of an overdose. A thorough investigation by the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office investigators, in collaboration with the Rockingham County District Attorney’s Office took place at that time.
On March 28, 2025, Allen Joseph Bondurant, 31, of Madison, NC was charged with Death by Distribution in connection with the death of Thomas Kyle Gibson Jr. and taken into custody. Additionally, Bondurant was charged with 2 counts of Possession with Intent to Sell, 1 count of Sale and Delivery of a Schedule II Controlled Substance, and 1 count of Trafficking Schedule II Controlled Substance. He is currently being held at the Rockingham County Jail under a $1.5 million secured bond. Bondurant’s court date was set for April 7, 2025.
On April 2, 2025 after further investigation by the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office Investigators 62-year-old Bradley Keith Evans of Eden, NC was also charged in connection with the death of Thomas Kyle Gibson Jr. Bradley Keith Evans was charged with Death by Distribution and taken into custody and given NO BOND. Evans will have a first appearance in front of a Judge on April 3, 2025.
The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the NC Adult Probation, and The Rockingham County District Attorney’s Office for their assistance in this matter. The investigation is still ongoing at this time.
