[Rockingham County, N.C.] – At around 8:30 p.m. on the evening of January 25, 2024, Rockingham County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a gunshot victim on US 220 bypass near Sardis Church Road in Madison.
Upon their arrival, Sheriff’s Deputies found a male victim in a Blue in color Jeep Wrangler suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim told Deputies that a Silver or White in color, small Ford or Dodge truck fired the shot from their vehicle while traveling alongside the Blue Jeep Wrangler on US 220 near the Sardis Church Rd. Rockingham County Investigators believe this to have been a “Road Rage” related incident.
The victim’s wound is believed to be non-life threatening and he has been transported to a local area hospital for treatment of his injury. Additional information about the victim is not being released at this time due to safety concerns.
