Wilmuth Christine Vernon Manuel, 77, of Stoneville, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at Forsyth Medical Center.
A 2:00 p.m. funeral service will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023, at Ray Funeral Home with Pastor Hassell Priddy officiating. Burial will follow at Glenn’s Chapel Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Christine was born on January 8, 1946, to the late Robert and Leonie Joyce Vernon. She farmed and worked in textiles. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother that adored her children and grandchildren. She had a passion for photography, often taking pictures of the skies and nature. She also enjoyed gardening, flowers, and cooking.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Rosiebelle Mabe and Claydale Collins.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, James Manuel of the home; her children, Tim Manuel of Stoneville, Tammy Manuel of Madison, Kimberly Joyce and husband Brad of Madison, and Kerry Manuel of Stoneville; her brother, Javan Vernon of Mayodan; her sister, Caroldean Hay and husband Richard of Jamestown; five grandchildren, Luke Manuel, Shane Manuel, Terrance Manuel, Bryan Joyce, and Cole Joyce; five great grandchildren; and a special cousin, Cokey.
