William “Ray” Snyder, 89, of Madison, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, December 16, 2024, at Annie Penn Hospital.

A 2:00 p.m. funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Grace Baptist Church where he attended. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends on Friday evening, December 20, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Ray Funeral Home and all other times at the home.

Ray was born in Stokes County on March 25, 1935, to the late William Harvey and Beulah Shelton Snyder. He graduated from Sandy Ridge Highschool and later served in the United States Army where he was stationed in Korea. Ray spent his career in textiles for over 40 years, where he worked at Madison Throwing, Burlington Industries, MacField, and retiring from UNIFI. After that, he took up woodworking, building cabinets for over 10 years. Ray enjoyed gardening, loved the Atlanta Braves, and the UNC Tar Heels.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lettie Sue Hazelwood.

Ray is survived by his loving wife, Lila Woods Snyder of the home; his children, Rhonda “Michelle” Nunley and husband Mike of Tracy City, TN and Mark Shawn Snyder and wife Missy of Stoneville; three grandchildren, Beckii Nunley, Joshua Nunley, and Kasi Snyder; and two step grandchildren, Lani and Nate Goin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church, 3097 US 311 HWY, Madison, NC 27025.
