William Roger Cobb, Sr., 88, went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center, Winston-Salem, N.C.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday, December 10, 2023, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel
(1020 Hope Beasley Road, Sandy Ridge, N.C). A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at the Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery, Sandy Ridge, N.C.
Roger was born on November 8, 1935, in Rockingham County, N.C., to the late William Cobb and Vera Strader Cobb. He served his country in the National Guard, attended Oak Ridge Baptist Church, and was retired from Roadway Express with 47 years of driving. Roger loved time with his family. He never met a stranger, was always willing to lend a helping hand, and worked on many projects around the farm.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Joy Cobb; brother Ronald Cobb; grandson Dustin Shaver, and two sisters Shirley Mae Chapmon and Louise Cobb.
Survivors include wife Brenda J. Cobb; sons William Roger Cobb, Jr. (Tammy) and Ronald Wesley Cobb (Nadine); daughters Bonnie Joy Fleiss (Glenn) and Lisa Hoffman (Herman); sister Collene Stadler (Miles); eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel is serving the family.
