William “Odell” Duncan, 65, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at his home.
An 11:00 a.m. funeral service will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022, at Ray Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Boles officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, May 19, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Ray Funeral Home and all other times at the home.
Odell was born on July 4, 1956, to the late Junior and Ruth Bullins Duncan. He worked in textiles most of his life. Odell loved old cars and enjoyed working on them. He loved his family and especially his grandchildren. He also loved fishing, watching westerns (Gun Smoke), and NASCAR.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, J.D. Duncan; and his sisters, Shirley Alley and Linda Williams.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Shelia Smith Duncan of the home; his children, Del Priddy (Sherrie) of Madison, Dennis Priddy (Wanda) of Mayodan, Timmy Duncan (Courtney) of Madison, Mandy Duncan (Lindsay) of Madison, Ricky Duncan, Dean Duncan, and Justin Duncan; his sisters, Betty Brim of Walnut Cove and Maxine Hicks (Ricky) of Madison; grandchildren, Dray, Tyler, Dawson, Chea, Shawn, Cole, Ethan, Wyatt, Elijah, Summer, Hollie, and Emma; and a great-grandchild, Carter.
