Willam Irvin Reagan, 87 of Ruffin, North Carolina , passed away on October 11, 2023, in his hometown. He was born on August 27, 1936, In Reidsville, North Carolina and lived his entire life in the home he cherished. William was dedicated and hardworking individual who was deeply committed to his family, church, and Masonic Lodge. He was a proud member of the Caswell Brotherhood Lodge No. 11 for over 50 years.
William found joy in tending to his property and hosted a family reunion at his home for an impressive 68 years. He was known for his love of slow-cooked pork BBQ, which he enjoyed preparing over coals. Christmas was always a special time at the Reagan house, filled with warmth and love. He also had a passion for baseball, football and supported the Yankees and the Tarheels.
Above all, William was extremely devoted to his family. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Betty Jean, for over 67 years. Together, they raised two sons, Randy and Ray, and created a loving home. William is survived by his wife Betty Jean, his sons Randy and wife Janet and Ray and wife Cathy, his grandchildren Michael, Michelle, Brooke, Paige, and Will, and his six great-grandchildren.
William’s parents, Rebecca T Reagan Jackson and Irvin Reagan, preceded him in death. He held fond memories of his educational journey, graduated from Cobb Memorial School, which he attended from first grade to graduation.
During his career , William worked at various companies, including Proctor and Gamble Manufacturing Company in Greensboro, Reidsville Grocery Company, Miller Brewing, and Wysong. His strong work ethic and dedication were evident throughout his professional life.
William found solace and community at Bethesda Presbyterian Church in western Caswell County. He was a member of the church for most of his life, serving as an elder and treasurer for over 50 years.
Services to honor and celebrate William’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, October 16, 2023, at Bethesda Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Ruffin, North Carolina. The family will see friends immediately following the service at the residence, 1870 Ashland Rd. Ruffin, NC. The funeral arrangements are entrusted to Citty Funeral Home in Reidsville, NC.
William Irvin Reagan will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those lives he touched. His legacy of hard work, devotion, and love will continue to inspire those who knew him.
