William Frank “Billy” Dyer, 72, of Burlington formerly of Reidsville, peacefully passed away Saturday, Dec 31, 2022 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Wednesday January 4, 2023 in Citty Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Smith officiating. Burial will be in Reidlawn Cemetery.
He was the son of Myrtle Crumpton Dyer and the late Frank Elwood Dyer and is survived by his wife of 18 years: Carolyn Massey Dyer of the home, his mother: Myrtle Crumpton Dyer of Reidsville, his sons: Jonathan Massey (Melissa) of Burlington and Preston Massey (Samantha) of Haw River, his brothers: Tommy Dyer of Reidsville and Charles Dyer of Ft. Mill, SC, his grandchildren, Matthew Beagle, Laila Massey, Jonathan Massey, Jr., Michael Beagle and Chris Tart (Emily), and his nephews Michael Dyer (Jennifer) and Eddie Dyer (Libby) and his furry companion Toby.
Bill lived most of his life in Reidsville, where he was a devoted caretaker of his grandmother and both of his parents, while also working as co-owner and manager of Dyer Ice, Coal & Oil for over 30 years. Bill moved to Burlington to join Carolyn and his new family approximately 18 years ago and started a new career for 16 years delivering supplies to hospitals across NC. A member of Faith Christian Church, where he was a former Deacon and an original member, he was accomplished and enjoyed investing in the stock market, serving clients, ping pong, but was best known for his hard work, integrity, and kindness to all. Most impressive was that he was a devout Christian and had a great love of his family.
The family will see friends 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. Tuesday January 3, 2023 at Citty Funeral Home and at other times at the residence.
Memorials may be sent to: The American Cancer Society 7027 Albert Pick Rd. Greensboro, NC 27409.
