William Ellis Osborne, 69, of Eden passed away at his home on Sunday, June 18, 2023.
A memorial service will be held at 11am Thursday, June 22, at Leaksville United Methodist Church in Eden. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 21, from 5-7pm at Fair Funeral Home in Eden.
William was born June 27, 1953, in Rockingham County, NC, to Zizzy and Peggy Osborne. He was a member of the Leaksville United Methodist Church and proud supporter of the local community. William held a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina Greensboro and a master’s degree from East Tennessee State University. He was self-employed, spending most of his career as a general contractor and owner of Osborne Company.
William was well-known for his patented, corny sense of humor, often sharing ‘dad jokes’ with anyone whose day he thought he could brighten. Those closest to William remember him for his selfless and caring nature.
Surviving is his wife of forty-five years, Barbara Ness Osborne; sons, William Scott Osborne and Benjamin Christopher Osborne; daughter-in-law Alie Osborne; siblings, Zizzy Osborne and his wife Jeannie, Cindi Osborne, Pete Osborne and his wife Anne, plus numerous loving nieces and nephews.
William was preceded in death by his father, Zizzy Osborne, mother, Peggy Osborne, and beloved cat, Yellow Kitty.
