William Dobson “Bill” Griffiths, 91, of Reidsville, went to be with the Lord Saturday September 23, 2023 at the Gibson House Hospice of Rockingham County.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday (September 28, 2023) in Citty Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Greenview Cemetery. The family will see friends 1 hour before the service at the funeral home and at other times will be at the home of Nick and Jodi Nickerson.
A native of Follansbee, WVa, he was the son of the late Robert Garfield and Mildred Dobson Griffiths and had lived in Reidsville for the past twelve years, moving here from Altavista, VA. A graduate of Follansbee High School where he was a member of the basketball and track team, he then graduated from Georgia Tech. A retired mechanical/industrial engineer with Burlington Industries, he was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by a daughter Karen Moore and a sister Sharon G. Chankalian. Survivors include his wife: Shirlee Eshelman Griffiths of Reidsville, daughter: Jodi G. Nickerson (Nick) of Reidsville, son: Michael Robert Griffiths (Renee) of Reidsville, grandchildren: Michael, Chase, Kelley, Faith, Patrick, Madison, Taylor, Austin, and Nathan and 14 great grandchildren.
