William “Dennis” Ware, 69, of Reidsville, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025, following years of declining health. He is proceeded in death by his parents, William and Maime Estelle and sister Nancy Davis.
Dennis was born on March 15, 1956, in Reidsville, NC and spent his entire life in Rockingham County. After spending time in the Navy, he went to work at Miller/Ball Can Plant in Reidsville where he retired in 2016. He was also the caretaker for the Rockingham Lake Fishing Club for over 20 years. Dennis worked hard his entire life taking care of his family, friends, and even strangers. He was always lending someone a hand. He could fix anything, the first person you called when something broke. The running joke was, “if Dennis can’t fix it, no one can.” Just ask his daughter, Heather, who told her husband all the time, “I’m calling my Daddy!”
Dennis loved fishing, crop farming, Nascar racing, and taking beach trips with his family. The past four years the highlight of his life was watching his grandson, Noah, play football on Friday nights for the Reidsville Rams. He was so proud of him for committing to play football at Ferrum College. Dennis played an active role in the lives of Noah and his grandson Zach, shaping them into the young men they are today. Dennis loved all his grandchildren and talked about them to everyone. Family dogs were always part of Dennis’s life, but we know his special fur baby, “Baby Girl”, was running to greet him in Heaven.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Ware of the home, son Shaun Ware (Rachel), daughter Heather Welch (Eric), daughter Mae Ware, and sister Judy Walker. In addition to grandchildren Noah and Zach of the home, he had three other grandchildren, Chloe, Braxton, and ZaLiah.
