Obituary: WILLIAM “BILL” ALBERT KINGREE JR

Bill Kingree, 62, of Dawsonville, GA, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:30 pm Tuesday, June 25, at Jekyll Brewing in Alpharetta, GA.

A gravesite funeral will be held at 10:00 am. Thursday, June 27, at Fairview Baptist Church cemetery in Reidsville, NC.

Bill was born on June 30, 1961, in Shelbyville, TN to William Kingree Sr. and Harriet Holden Thomas. He graduated from Shelbyville Central High School in 1979 and attended Middle Tennessee State University. On February 22, 1992, Bill married Lisa Griffin and they began a wonderful life together. They moved to the Atlanta, Georgia area in 1996, where he spent 21 years as Vice President of Information Systems at US Security Associates. Bill most recently co-founded National Security Partners, where he worked as their Senior Vice President of Information Systems. He supported and rooted on his children, Lexi and Jake, in countless sports and activities throughout the years. Bill coached both flag and school football teams and made a positive impact on the lives of several young players. He loved spending time with his dogs, Munson and Milo, and sharing their quirks with others. Bill was known for his unique sense of humor and always had a clever joke to add to the conversation. He was devoted to his fitness and could always be found at the gym or on a run. Bill was a Georgia Bulldogs fan and looked forward to every fall when football season would roll around.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lisa Griffin Kingree, daughter, Logan Elizabeth Kingree, mom, Harriet Holden Thomas, stepdad, Franklin “Bob” Thomas, and beloved dog, Milo. Those left to cherish his memory include children, Lexi and Jake Kingree, sisters, Susan Warren, Lori Murphy, Terri Shaw, and Liz Johnson, and countless friends & extended family.
