Obituary: WAYNE KNIGHT

Wayne Knight, 67, died on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at his home.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, August 25, 2024 in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Danny Hemric officiating. The family will greet friends beginning at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Knight was born on December 13, 1956 in Guilford County to Stella V. Knight and the late Jimmy Lee Knight. Wayne was a dedicated caregiver his entire working career and for the last eight years he lovingly cared for his mother. He enjoyed planting flowers around his home and listening to Tina Turner.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Samuel Gray Knight.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brothers, Jerry Knight (Nenita) and Keith Knight; special friends, Barbara and Tina; four nieces and one nephew.
