Wayne Haynes of Summerfield, NC passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at Moses Cone Hospital.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Mt. Bethel Church, 8130 NC Hwy 65, Summerfield. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning a 1 p.m. on Thursday at the church and all other times at the residence.
Wayne was born on June 30, 1942 to the late CB and Mildred Baker Haynes. He was an avid collector of vintage cars and tractors. Wayne could always be found in his garage tinkering with his cars or in his basement where he had a special toy room setup for all of his classic toys he had collected over the years. He was a lover of anything old and timeless.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Kathy Haynes; son, Brian and daughter-in-law, Renee Haynes; grandchildren, Madison Haynes and Taylor Haynes and sister-in-law, Pat Terrell. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
