Obituary: WAYNE ELIJAH DALTON

Wayne Elijah Dalton of Belews Creek and formerly of Mayodan, 86, died on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Beacon Place in Greensboro.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 2, 2025 in the Mayodan Municipal Cemetery with military honors by the Rockingham County Veterans Honor Guard and the North Carolina Army National Guard. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.

Mr. Dalton was born on March 25, 1939 in Rockingham County to the late Ray Elijah Dalton and Ottie Atkins Dalton. Wayne served his country honorably in the United States Army and spent many years as a mechanic with Pilot Freight Carriers. He was a car enthusiast and had the ability to fix anything. Wayne enjoyed traveling and gardening and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two infant brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Carter Dalton; daughter, Mitzi Dalton and numerous extended family members and friends.
