Wayne Clinton Pyrtle, 90, left this earthly life, Friday, October 18, 2024, at LifeBrite Community Hospital of Stokes,

Danbury, N.C.

Born October 5, 1934, to the late Maylor Thomas Pyrtle and Gladys Nelson Pyrtle, Wayne was a self-employed brick mason. He was a strong Atlanta Braves fan and also a UNC Tar Heel fan. Wayne worked hard to provide for his family.

In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by son, Ken Pyrtle, daughter, Tina Pyrtle, brothers, Jay Hugh Pyrtle, Hardin Thomas Pyrtle, Jimmy Leon Pyrtle, and Garner Alexander Pyrtle; sisters, Geraldine Handy, Norma Jean Fulk, and loving yellow lab, Bo.

Wayne is survived by his devoted wife Shirley Bullins Pyrtle; daughter, Sandra Pyrtle Clement (Larry); brother, Charles Davis Pyrtle, sister, Joyce Niten (Bennie), and grandchildren, Jacob Wayne Duggins (Rebekah), Dani Clement (Matt), and Taylor Altizer (Johnny); and two great-grandchildren, Jackson Dudley Altizer and Annie James Smith.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel and other times at the residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Lawsonville Church of God Cemetery.
