

Wayne Edward Carter, 85, of Sandy Ridge, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2025. He was born on October 5, 1939, to the late Caleb and Ada Carter.
A devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Wayne was known for his passion for gardening and cooking—talents that brought joy to his family and friends. He was a dedicated member of Oak Grove Church, where he found great happiness singing in the choir.
Wayne was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bobbie Carter; his parents, Caleb and Ada Carter; his brother, Hassell Carter; and his sisters, Gracie Kiger, Margaret Hawkins, Rachel Richardson, and Nina Ziglar.
He is survived by his loving children: daughter Sherri Shelton (Donald) and sons Jerry Carter and Gary Carter. He also leaves behind cherished granddaughters Elizabeth Kiger (David), Melissa Lowe (Derick), and Karen Holt (Bryan), as well as numerous great-grandchildren.
Wayne loved his family deeply and worked hard all his life, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and kindness.
Wayne will be dearly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved him.
