Virginia “Ginny” Solomon Brooks, 82, of Reidsville, NC, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 19, 2023.
Graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 21, 2023, in Greenview Cemetery with Rev. Mark Tanner officiating. The family will see friends immediately following the service, at the cemetery, and at other times at the residence. Those wishing to pay their respects can come by Citty Funeral Home on Thursday afternoon April 20, 2023.
The daughter of Joseph “Joe” Solomon and Virginia “Cissy” Solomon, Ginny was born on September 6,1940 and lived in Reidsville her whole life. Ginny graduated from Reidsville Senior High School and from U.N.C. Women’s College.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Philip Gordon Brooks
Ginny was a member of Grace Fellowship at South Park (Formerly First Congregational Christian Church) and was the owner of Brooks Investment Services for 19 years. Ginny previously worked for the American Cancer Society, Duke Energy, First National Bank, and Edward D. Jones. Ginny served her community through the Kiwanis Club of Reidsville, and the Downtown Corporation of Reidsville. After her retirement, Ginny authored a book called “A Trip of A Lifetime, Wherever You Go.” Ginny married Philip G. Brooks on May 27, 1962 and loved trips to the beach and morning walks along the shoreline.
Virginia “Ginny” Solomon Brooks is survived by her two sons: Kris (Regina) and Jay (Denise) along with five grandchildren Austin Brooks, Tanner Brooks, Andrew Underwood (Chantel), Adam Underwood (Esther), and Savannah Amey (Max), along with two great -grandchildren Lily Brooks and Judah Underwood.
