Virginia G. McElroy, 78 died Thursday, March 23, 2023.
A graduate of UNCG, she was a retired schoolteacher having taught in Virginia Beach and Rockingham County.
She was devoted to her family as well as her students and she enjoyed learning of their accomplishments. A sweet and gentle spirit, she was a blessing to those who knew her.
Survivors are her sister Mary G. Harrell; brother, John Gunn and a great niece, Ariel Elizabeth Whitmire.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Rockingham County Animal Shelter in memory of her as well as her beloved cats, Chancey and Peaches at 250 Cherokee Camp Road, Reidsville, NC 27320.
