Virgil “Ray” Freeman, 57, of Mayodan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.

Born and raised in North Carolina, Ray was known for his exceptional talent as an upholsterer. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Holland Freeman and brothers, Duane “Hoogie” Freeman and Randy Freeman.

Survivors include his wife, Kimberly Atkins Freeman; son, Chris Freeman and wife, Jessica; granddaughter, Kaidyn; father, Fred Wilson Freeman; brother, Freddie Freeman; beloved cat, Stewie; special dog, Prissy and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

A 2:00 p.m. celebration of Ray’s life will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Old Country Church with Pastor Donnie Chandler officiating.
