Viola Ann Kennon Allen, age 94 of Eden, NC passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Saturday January 25th, 2025.
Viola was born February 23, 1930 in Rockingham County to the late Will Lee Kennon and Dollie Massey Kennon. She was a member of Stoneville Pentecostal Holiness Church. Viola retired from Karastan Rug Mill. Everyone who knew her would agree that she was one of the sweetest and most appreciative souls they’d ever known. Never complaining, almost always singing or humming, and asking every morning if we’d had breakfast. She was quick to correct your grammar, pinch your arm, and let you know that she “loved your bones.” Her genuine relationship with Jesus began at a young age and she faithfully served and pointed others to Him even till her final breath.
She is survived by daughters: Melinda Hatcher (Jimmy), Deborah Pulliam both of Eden, Laverne “Bunnie’ Coleman of High Point, Tammy Church (Ken) of Stoneville, and Lori Allen (Jason) of Reidsville; sisters: Beatrice Blanchard, Evon Pierce both of Eden, Veronica Duck of Whitsett; brother, Billy Kennon of Eden; 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Viola was preceded in death, along with her parents, by her husband, Theo Jackson Allen; 3 grandchildren, Josh Turner, Melissa Tompkins and Ryan Massey.
Special thanks to primary caregivers Donna, Gilda, Tia, and Beth.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ancora Compassionate Care, 2150 N.C. 65, Reidsville, NC 27320.
