
Mr. Victor Paul LaDota, age 74, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2022.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 13, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Brown’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 461 Brown’s Chapel Road, Gibsonville, NC. Pastor Dr. Frankie T. Jones, Sr., will deliver the words of comfort.
Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery.
He was born in New York City on September 11, 1947.
Victor graduated from Bishop Duffy High School and Niagara University both located in Niagara Falls, New York. He received a Master’s degree in history from Geneseo The State University of New York.
. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Queen Ester Swann Graves.
Victor was hired by New York Giants’ football legend. Charles “Bolo” Purdue as a history teacher and junior varsity boys basketball coach at Norview High School, Norfolk Virginia. Soon thereafter, Victor affectionately became known as “Coach” as he oversaw the girls’ junior varsity basketball team.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Queen Esther Swann Graves.
He leaves to cherish a devoted wife of twenty years, Lauren Graves LaDota; his son, Dr. Anthony LaDota (Katie); two granddaughters, Safina and Emery of Williamsville, New York; his brother, Michael LaDota (Marietta); nephew, Justin LaDota of Clifton, Virginia; a host of relatives and friends.
