Vernita Cozette Mitchell was born on February 7, 1960 to the late Jeannette Marie Mitchell and Robert Lindsey in Greensboro, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her brothers, James Mitchell and Robert Lindsey, Jr., and a special niece, Rasheeda Martin.

As a lifelong resident of Reidsville, NC, she attended the public schools of Rockingham County and was employed by Quality Associates until her health failed.

“Nita” as she was affectionately referred to by her family and close friends, was loved and respected by all who knew her. She loved watching movies, knitting, listening to music, dancing and especially spending time with her family and “her grands.” Her presence will be truly missed, but the wisdom and love she shared with others will remain in our hearts forever.
