Ms. Valerie Olivia Walker departed this life on Sunday evening, November 19, 2023.
She was a native of Rockingham County, North Carolina and a resident of New Bern for the past three years. Having a special adoration for her family and friends, she enjoyed reading her Bible, laughing and enjoying listening to her favorite song “God Will Take Care of You”. We thank God for her beautiful life and precious memories. Glory Be To God!
Her parents, Gladys Marie Walker and Willie Cobb, Jr., preceded her in death.
Survivors include: beloved brothers, Pastor Vincent T. Walker (First Lady Sandra) and James Wesley Walker; sister, Sharon King; niece, Taneila Walker (Victor); nephew, Kevin Matier (Tiffany); four great-nieces and nephews; two great-great-nieces and nephew; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Sunday, November 26, 2023 from the chapel of Johnson & Sons, 115 Holderby Street with Elder Billy Inge presiding. Public viewing will be Saturday afternoon at Johnson & Sons.
