Travis Roscoe Williams, 88, of Mayodan, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at his home.
A private graveside service will be held on Monday, April 10, 2023, at Stoneville City Cemetery with military honors.
Travis was born on April 20, 1934. He was a devoted Christian and of the Baptist faith. Travis served in the US Army and in the Korean War and retired from Sears Roebuck and Co. after 36 years of service and continued to be a handyman for many around Mayodan and even worked in maintenance for Mount Villa assisted living. Travis was a self-taught engineer. He loved working on cars, especially classic cars, and woodworking projects like bird houses. He also loved all types of racing, especially NASCAR and the Atlanta Braves.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Beulah Knight Williams; his wife, Barbara Ann Martin Williams; and his two brothers, Cleo and Owen Williams.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Jimmy L. Williams (Shelia) of Mayodan, Jerry L. Williams of Mayodan, and Jennifer E. Williams of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; his sister, Armolene Woods of Walnut Cove; three grandchildren, Brandy Williams, Leah Williams (Brooks), and Anna-Marie Williams-Parks (David); and two great grandchildren, Grayson Talley Darnell and Brandon Lee Parks.
