Tony James, a lifelong resident of Mayodan, NC, passed away on November 8, 2022, after an illness.
A memorial service will be held at a later date, details to be announced.
Tony was a proud 1969 graduate of Madison-Mayodan High School, and a fantastic softball, football, and basketball player. He loved playing ball at the “Y” (now the M-M Recreation Center), reading, listening to oldies like Johnny Rivers’ “Secret Agent Man”, and beach music. He also loved watching the Carolina Tar Heels basketball – whether they deserved it or not.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his older brother, Mike who passed in 2020.
He is survived by daughters, Melissa and Laurie and grandson Nicholas; his brothers, Steve and Donnie; and many nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the M-M Recreation Center, 300 S. 2nd Ave, Mayodan, NC 27027.
