Todd Carter, 61, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at The Old Country Church, 241 Sisk Mill Loop, Madison with Reverend Donnie Chandler officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the church and all other times at the home of his mother, Shirley Bailes.

Todd was born on April 8, 1963 in Rockingham County. He was a retiree from Lorillard Tobacco Company and found great joy in the outdoors, particularly fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed playing cornhole, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, tending to his tomato plants and caring for his beloved canine, Waylon. Todd will forever be remembered as a loving father.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Carter; paternal grandparents, Henry and Ella Carter and maternal grandparents, Freeman and Helen Atwood.

Survivors include his mother and step-father, Shirley Atwood Bailes and Ed Bailes; daughter, Tiffany Carter; grandson, Cameron Weitz; sister, Annette Payne (Mark); nephew, Justin Payne (Emily) and niece, Emily Williams (Justin).

Colonial Funeral Home in Madison is serving the family.
