Timothy “Tim” Dale Smith, 54, died unexpectedly on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at his home.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Russell Simpson officiating. Burial will follow in the Mayodan Municipal Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Colonial Funeral Home in Madison and all other times at the home.

Mr. Smith was born on July 6, 1970 to the late Roger Dale Smith and Carolyn Gray Doss Smith. He was a former employee of Southern Finishing. Known for his infectious humor and zest for life, Tim never met a stranger and was always the life of the party. He had a passion for the outdoors and found great joy in small engine repair. Above all, he cherished spending time with his kids, grandkids and any other kids that came over to nana and papa’s house, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephew, Justin Louis Hamlin; father-in-law, Bobby Lee Manuel and beloved canine, Molly.

Survivors include his loving wife of thirty-three years, Lillie Manuel Smith; children, Gregory Smith (Morgan), Hanna Smith (Kelsi) and D.J. Willard; grandchildren, Kinsley Smith, Hudson Smith and Hadley Smith; siblings, Traci Hamlin (Joey), Rhonda Orander (Carl), Donald Smith (Maria) and Derrick Smith (Tammy); mother-in-law, Roxie Manuel; special canine and his pride and joy, Bailey and numerous extended family.
