Obituary: TIMMY OXENDINE

Timmy Oxendine, 68, left this earthly life Friday, July 8, 2022, at Jacob’s Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm., Friday July 15th, 2022, at Mt. Bethel Church, 8130 NC 65 Hwy, Summerfield, NC, with Pastor Olaf van de Klashorst presiding. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Tim was born April 3rd, 1954 in Lumberton, North Carolina to John and Carrie Mae (Fields) Oxendine as part of nine siblings. He worked in the construction industry, building and driving related equipment. He moved to Rockingham County, and was a faithful part of Mt Bethel Church for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Carrie Mae, a brother, Purnell Oxendine, sisters Vera Mae Revels and Margaret Locklear, and his dear son, Timmy Ray Locklear.

In addition to Tim’s church family, he is survived by sisters Pauline Hunt of Mullins, SC, and Carolyn Jacobs (Johnny) of Laurinburg, brothers James Oxendine (Linda) of Greensboro, Jessie Oxendine of Greensboro, and Leslie Oxendine (Faye) of Carthage, special cousin Goldie Fields of Rennert, daughter Dale Locklear Jones (Jason) of Laurinburg, and two grandchildren J. Damien Clark and Layanna Jones.

Special appreciation is extended to his close friend and caregiver Susan Dickerson, and the caring members of Mt Bethel Church, the staff at Jacobs Creek and Hospice of Rockingham County, for all the loving care given to Tim in his time of need.
