Thomas “Tom” William Stevens, 72, left this earthly life Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at Forsyth Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 16, 2022, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel. Interment will follow at the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Thomas was born December 3, 1949, in Surry County. He was a graduate of North Stokes High School, retired after 36 years of service from Westinghouse/Siemens. Tom was of the Baptist faith. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing, and playing Rook Saturday nights with friends.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Stevens and Gladys Lankford Stevens; a brother, Charles Stevens, a sister, Loretta Stevens Lawson, and a nephew, Marty Martin.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Betty Amos Stevens; a sister, Frankie Martin; caregivers, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sheila Amos Pyrtle and Keith Pyrtle, well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Saturday at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel and all other times at the residence.
