Thelma Haynes Fain, 87, of Reidsville passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at her residence.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 11 am at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens in Reidsville.

Thelma was born in Rockingham County on February 18, 1937, a daughter of Herman Haynes and Della Walsh Haynes, both deceased. She retired from Annie Penn Hospital. Thelma loved hummingbirds, Christmas Dinners, and cooking for everyone, especially homemade desserts. She handmade beautiful cross-stitch and Christmas stockings. She was a loving and tender soul, she loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be missed by so many who know and love her.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Harry “Eugene” Fain of Reidsville: her children, Tony Fain and wife, Tracie of Reidsville, Peggy Sova of High Point, Curtis Fain of Stewart, VA., Ricky Fain and wife, Mitzy of Reidsville and Darlene Moore and husband, Gary of Reidsville; her brother in law, Pete Kerns; her sisters-in-law, Evelyn Haynes and Mildred Haynes; her grandchildren, Christie, Mark, Christopher, Whitney, Allison, Kurt, Colt, Kacey, Kelly, Maria, Melissa, Matthew, Alisha, Ashley, April and Hampton and 33 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Thelma was predeceased by her daughter, Donna Chilton, her sister, Ann Kerns and her brothers, E.T. Haynes and Harold Haynes.

The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service from 10 until 11 am on Saturday at Boone & Cooke Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
