Talmadge Lendy Powell, 94, of Eden passed away on Monday morning, August 1, 2022, at his home.
A service of remembrance will be held at 11 am Thursday, August 4, 2022, at Victory by Grace Baptist Church. Entombment with military honors will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 10:30 until 11 am before the service at the church and other times at the residence.
Talmadge was born in Leaksville (now Eden) on February 24, 1928, a son of Roy Wade Powell and Ollie Wray Powell, both deceased. He was a veteran of the US Army. He was retired from Fieldcrest Mills.
In addition to his parents, He was preceded in death by his wife Toye Bolick Powell; his son, Joe Powell; and his siblings, Roy Powell, and Alice Stratton.
Talmadge is survived by his children, Dennis Powell and Wanda Overton; his daughter-in-law, Robin Powell; his grandchildren, Marcena Hicks, Shane Smith, Toye Rowe, Valerie Mahmood, Brandon Powell, ReAnna Powell, Marisa Fain; and his eight great grandchildren.
The family would like to express their appreciation to his daughter-in-law, Robin Powell for her loving care given to Talmadge.
