Obituary: TALMADGE FRANKLIN “FRANK” VAUGHN, III






























































Talmadge Franklin “Frank” Vaughn, III, 69, died on Monday, August 26, 2024 at his home.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2024 in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Randy Jessup officiating. Interment will follow in the Sardis Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Colonial Funeral Home in Madison and all other times at the home.

Mr. Vaughn was born on September 22, 1954 in Rockingham County to the late Talmadge Franklin Vaughn, Jr. and Nettie Jean Wilson Vaughn. Frank graduated from Madison-Mayodan High School in 1972 and from Elon College in 1976. He began his banking career in Greensboro before moving to BarclaysAmerican/Financial in Eden, where he met his beloved wife, Kelly. Frank continued his career at First Union Bank in Walnut Cove, Community Bank in Madison and Fidelity Bank in Stoneville, eventually retiring from First Bank in Mayodan. His dedication to his profession and the community will be remembered by all who knew him.

Frank was an avid sports fan, passionately supporting the New York Yankees, Carolina Tar Heels and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He traveled to many Final Fours and many sporting events. He was also a very good athlete growing up, excelling at baseball, softball, basketball and golf. Frank loved to laugh and reminisce with family, creating countless cherished memories.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Richard Boyer.

Survivors include his wife of thirty-eight years, Kelly Hurley Vaughn; daughters, Taylor Vaughn (Blaine Dalton) and Morgan Vaughn Mariani (Andrew); brother, Todd Vaughn (Lisa); sister, Vicki Boyer and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Peter Ennever and his entire staff in High Point for the compassionate and faithful care they provided Frank.
