Obituary: SYLVIA KING SMITH

Sylvia King Smith, age 84 passed away at Ancora Compassionate Care on Saturday September 21, 2024. The visitation will be held at 1 pm prior to the funeral service which will be held 2pm Saturday September 28th, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with a private entombment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Sylvia was born December 21, 1939 to the late Oscar Lee King and Hattie Parrish King in Draper, NC as the third of four daughters. Sylvia was a devoted mother and wife and enjoyed traveling the world as well as all fifty states with her late husband Melvin Smith. Sylvia attended King’s Highway Christian Church and she also was a member of Widows For Christ, and The Garden Of Eden Senior Center.
Surviving Sylvia are her two daughters Rhonda Shorter Scott of Mebane, NC, Sherri Shorter Creech(Robbie) of High Point, NC, one sister Vivian Owen and her grandchildren Elizabeth Scott(Tim), Timothy Scott(Ashley), Brian Creech(Winnie) and Vance Creech. Preceding her in death along with her parents are her husband Melvin Thomas Smith and two sisters Marie Goodwin and Agnes King.
